Randomness. What do you see?

So i don't really know if anyone ever really looks at my blog or not. But if you are looking at this page, can you please tell me; What does the font look like to you?

Is it a bubbly all capitals type font or is it more of a italic type lucida something or another handwriting type font?

Cuz it's supposed to be the all capitals one, but depending on what browser I open it in; it's been coming up in the other font a lot lately!

Please if you could spare a minute, let me know what you see...?

Seth's Yell

Someone was excited to be graduating!

Need I say more?...

Rocco; Bendin' it like Beckham

Rocco played Soccer this year. He was awesome! LOL...

Let me preface these stories by telling you he was, by a full year, the youngest on his team! So give him a little credit as you read on. Why was he so young compared to the other kids? Because we unknowingly signed him up a year early and the lady in our ward who was running the sign-ups just figured we were honest people and didn't even check his birth certificate or ask his birthdate (Her mistake! No Just Kidding! We really are honest people. When we were signing him up for Spring season, we didn't know he was supposed to have been four years old BEFORE the previous FALL season. Apparently they go off the Fall age for a full year).

So Rocco's coaches wanted to focus on the basics. Like dribbling the ball (I think that's what they called it; where you pass the ball back in forth in small kicks between your feet). They never did actually tell the kids how to play Soccer, or the goal of the game. Maybe they figured all the kids had at least played one season prior to this and knew the goal. I dunno. Either way, when the first game rolled around, none of the kids really knew what to do. Especially Rocco. 

So all the "Blue Cheetahs" (Yes, that was their team name. Ahhh! Are you kidding me?!) just ran around chasing the ball, but never stealing it or trying to get it in the goal or even kicking it, or anything resembling soccer. 

So, during half time, being the brilliant mom that I am; I told Rocco that the guys in Black, the "Blackhawks" (now that's a manly and impressive team name!), were on Doctor Doom's team and that his team was the Superhero Squad. I said that they had to get the ball and keep it away from the Doctor Doomians, and that they needed to get the ball (that was secretly an infinity fractal) into the net (that was secretly the infinity vault).
Is all this Superhero lingo totally confusing you? I'm sorry! But I gotta tell you; it worked! It made perfect sense to Rocco!

So what happened? Did they win? Did Rocco score? I'll tell ya...

Rocco got back out there on the field after half time. The person who kicked the ball in (to restart the game) kicked it REALLY far down the field. All the kids ran after it. Rocco ran the fastest (I will say if they were choosing their team name based on speed, Rocco lived up to that name!), he got down to the ball a full couple seconds before any of the other kids. He ran straight to it, stopped, pointed his hand at the ball, and with his pinky, pointer and thumb extended, started blasting it with his spiderwebs!!!

Yes that's right, my child literally thinks he's spiderman! LOL. I'm I a bad parent since I was totally encouraging him with my little superhero schpeal?

Needless to say, No webs came out. He looked at his hand confusedly and then tried again. Didn't work. Every other parent on the team was staring at me like "What in world is he doing?!" And what was I doing? Busting up! It was Hilarious!

Then a little blackhawk reached the ball, stole it, dribbled it down to their goal and scored.

We lost. Rocco rocked my world though!  THat kid is AWESOME!

Well we went home and practiced. And we told Rocco you're not allowed to use hands in soccer, and that includes Spiderman hands...

He started doing better at his next few games, but it was like ADHD would set in halfway through the game and he would start pretending to be Batman or watching the planes fly overhead (the soccerfields are right next to a mini airfield), and not even paying attention to the ball or trying at all.

So, once again being the genius Mom that I am; I told Rocco that if he could steal the ball and make a goal, I would make a bat symbol to put onto his uniform.

Rocco jumped all over that one! Or shall I say he kicked all over that one?

Either way, at his next game Rocco was trying the entire game to steal that ball and get it in the net! I've never seen such dedication from my little man! At the very end of the game he finally got his chance. He stole the ball from this poor tiny little guy, ran as fast as he could and made the winning goal!

Unfortunately that winning goal was in the wrong net, and for the wrong team...

Yes, I did make him a bat symbol for his uniform. 

Zeegan was Rocco's Biggest little fan! She would yell "Go Wocco!" even when he wasn't in the game playing...

Rocco's team lost every single game. We didn't mind a bit! It was so fun watching him learn something new and have some fun! and I loved screaming "Go Rocco!" and "Yeah Blue Cheetahs!" from the sidelines! (Yes, I am that loud Soccer Mom. And proud of it Baby!)

Hogwarts in Loma Linda CA? Seth T Purcell, M.D.

There is no one word that can adequately explain the past 4 years, but "BitterSweet" comes close. It's been the most trying, and lonely, yet sometimes fun and exciting times of our lives so far.  Now we're done, and moving on. And "bittersweet" comes to mind once more. I'm so glad we're growing up and moving on to the next stage in our life! But I will certainly miss the best friends we've made, the little house we brought our baby girl home to, and living near family that is always there to help out or talk to or to just hang out with on nights when Seth's gone and we're home alone...

But guess what?!

We graduated!!! 

I'll post the video of Seth's yell later, it was awesome! 

Anyway, we're finished with Medical School; YAY!!!

Our happy family. So glad we're done!

I think it kinda looks like he's saying "Yeah, that's right; I'm the man!"  Hahaha! He says it looks more like "Why are you taking pictures of me, I haven't even graduated yet?!"

Little Miss Makenna Chamberlin has been Zeegan's BFF for the past two years. I sure hope we can continue this friendship for many years to come...

I'm so happy we attended school somewhere close to family. I think it would have been much harder without having Seth's family there as a constant support system. Graduation day was FANTASTIC! We were so grateful to have our families there supporting and cheering Seth on,  and celebrating this moment we've all been working toward. 

It looked like a Harry Potter Convention at Loma Linda University. It was kind of funny seeing all these grown people walking around in long black robes with Green and Gold colored hood collars (Apparently Med students are Slytherins {sp?}....)

Rocco was looking everywhere for his Daddy. He had to use his "Binocufingers" to find him. When Rocco did find him, Seth did Binocufingers back at him. Rocco was super excited. It was super cute!

At one point Zeegan (who was wearing a fresh diaper, mind you), peed so much it came out of her diaper and pooled in the little dip in her chair. she was drenched. So I grabbed her and ran (through soft grass in very spiky heels!) to the bathroom to change her and hopefully get back in time to actually see Seth get his diploma. I barely made it back on time. Thank Heavens! That really would've been sad if I'd missed the moment we''d been working toward for the past 4 years...

We LOVE you Seth, we are so proud of you and happy for you! Thanks for working so hard toward our goals and for setting such a great example for our kids.

Seth's Aunties and Sisters, and cousins made his about a gazillion leis. He could barely see anything. It was kind of funny. Winning lei idea of the day? The one with Mini First-aid kits, band-aid boxes, life savers and mentholatum! That was AWESOME!

My parents (and their kids still living at home) drove out from Utah to be there for Seth on this great day... Thanks Mom and Dad!

Seth had family come from near and far! This isn't even all of them. I think we had the largest group at the graduation by far! Seth's Grandparents, Dad, Brother and Sisters went at 4 in the morning to reserve our seats. And it's a good thing they did too because we had FABULOUS seats!, and because there were whole groups of people having to stand for the graduation. 

This is the part of our group that was group able to stay for pictures after the graduation. We had family fly and/or drive all the way from Utah, Hawaii, and Samoa!

I tried kissing my New Doctor of a Husband, but their were too many leis in the way...

Our family's latest accomplishment! 

(oops! Rocco's head was cut off in all the pictures! LOL. I had my favorite lens on my big camera, it's a bit hard to use, and everyone was having troubles figuring out how to get good shots with it. Sorry Jade, Grandma, and Aunties!)

Through the past 4 years we've had lots of late/all night study sessions, game nights, dinners, park days, swim days, Disney Days, Birthdays, Movie/ favorite TV show nights, etc... with the Chamberlin Family. They are our best friends. Josh graduated with Seth. It was a great day for all of us! Josh and Lauren are going to there residency in Urology at UC-Irvine. They've got a long road before them too. One day hopefully we'll all end up by each other again!

Oahu Hawaii

After "Kawaii" we flew to Oahu. Oahu isn't near as pretty as Kauai, but it's fabulously sunny! We spent everyday at the beach (except for Sunday and the one day we went to the PCC).

Seth's sister Jade was kind enough to let us steal her living room floor and couch for the week. We were practically taking over their entire house- SORRY NAYSE! But we didn't spend a whole lot of time inside, cuz it was so fantastic outside!

Our first day in Oahu was a Sunday. We went to Seth's Uncle Kingy's ward and then we went home, changed our clothes and took a walk down to and along the beach. After the beach we went and visited  long-time-no-see family members!

Then Monday morning the real fun began! BEACH BUMS!!!

We visited a couple beaches that week, but did the same thing at each of them...

We had FUN of course!

One of our beach days we went to Turtle Beach, and what do ya know?! We saw a turtle!

 We spent a LOT of time digging little swim pools...

When the beach got to hot we would hit up Matsumoto's for some incredibly yummy shaved ice with ice-cream in it...

Then late one night (after ZZ was asleep), we took Captain AmeRocco to see The Avengers!!! He was standing the entire movie! He was to excited to sit. We all LOVED it! The Purcell's are Superhero fans through and through... hee hee! Zeegan woke up at the very end of the movie, sat up and yelled "Ironman?!!"

On another night in Oahu we went and visited the Temple and it's Visitor center. 

I found a new love in life while in Oahu: MALASADAS! Those things are amazing! First time trying them, definitely not my last time though!

  Thanks to Jade and Nayse, we were able to spend an entire day at the Polynesian Culture Center. The kids LOVED the PCC. 

Their Favorite Part? Feeding Fish!

 I was pretending to be a dancer in the show...

 Throwing spears. Rocco and Seth were good at it. Mine only went about 2 feet. I almost hit some woman's newborn baby!

 We probably spent half hour "fishing". The kids LOED it!

 Rocco, Zeegan and I got matching tattoos. Seth was to much of a party pooper to get one!

 Poi balls... Grammy Kylene ZeeZee totally needs you to make her some of these! She loved them...

 During the half-time at the night show, was the finale of the world fire-knife championship! IT WAS SOOOOO FREAKING AWESOME!!!! Both our kids fell asleep during it. I do not know how that happened. I have never seen anything so cool in my life! We weren't allowed to take pictures during the competition though (ya know, cuz they were throwing knives around. knives that were on fire...), sorry!

It was a sad day when we had to leave paradise. We flew home to pack up our house and head for more adventures!

Thank you to all our family members who made this part of our trip possible for us, especially Jade and Nayse for letting us sleep on your floor and take over your house for a week!
