The week after "Grammy" came to visit, we had "Grandma" come visit as well. Well actually we had both of Seth's grandparents here and it was Wonderful!
Grandma spent a lot of time with the kids and they loved all the one-on-one attention. She is especially good at helping kids (and in my case- Adults!) feel smart and special. Rocco particularly loved having her come. She spent time listening to him read, we all went and had lunch with him at school, and then she went back with him to school the next day and helped in his classroom for a couple hours. He told me he was the luckiest boy in the whole world!
I really loved having them here too! We got to go see the lights at BLORA (they are miles of light displays done by professionals to earn money at Christmastime for families of overseas soldiers!), eat YUMMY gluten-free BBQ!, go visit the local Bell county museum, show Grandma and Grandpa our favorite spots in Belton (The lake, the ducks at the river, the outdoor firepit at the Gin, and our favorite spot at the library!), and even cook together at home. I got to spend time doing a puzzle with Grandpa one night and going walking with him the next day. This was a real treat for me! He told me all about his mother's cooking growing up and the house he grew up in, he told me about his father's gardening and then a little about when he worked for the church. I loved every minute of it and am so grateful to know this wonderful man and call him family!
Thanks for coming to visit Grandma and Grandpa Petersen! We really really LOVED having you! We hope you will be back again soon as well :)
