One Month of the (almost) Perfect Life!

Well Zeegan turned one month old on Sunday!

We sure do love our little princess! She still sleeps all day, but she's started waking up during the night for longer than just eating. She's so daRn cute! She'll make baby noises and be all smiley and then I feel too guilty to go back to sleep, whether she'll let me or not! So I stay up half the night walking around the house making noises back at her... I love it! (I "love" it most of the time anyway)

I've become a little obsessed with bows and headbands. She just looks so cute in them that I can't seem to leave her without one. Our wonderful friend Melinda recently doubled ZeeZee's headband collection, and now I change her headband 2 or 3 times a day! (too bad I don't change her clothes that often, huh?!)

Z's getting chubbier and chubbier everyday! She's still too small to fill out newborn clothing (she's more than long enough for them, but they look like they're drowning her because she's such a skinny little squirt!), but she's definitely getting chubbier, especially in the face... She got her first roll this week and it's adorable! It's just a small one on her right thigh, but I'm betting my little lady bug's gonna be a rolly-polly in no time!

Zeegan had a Doctor appointment a week and a half ago and she weighed in at 7lbs 8oz and was 21.75 inches long! That's 2.5 lbs and 2.5 inches in just 2 weeks! She's thriving!

Rocco still adores Zeegan.
He calls her his baby, and he has to give his permission if anyone wants to hold her, otherwise he throws a fit.
Every morning the first thing he does is crawls over to her bed and says "Hi Baby Girl! are you awake?!" then he gives her kisses!
and whenever Seth gets home from school Rocco yells his usual "Daddy! are you home?!", but now it's become "Daddy! Are you home?! You want to see my baby?" and then he drags Seth into the bedroom (where she's usually sleeping) to see his baby...
He's the best big brother ever!

I love my kids! And I'm so incredibly grateful for both of them!

Our Family of Four!

After church yesterday I used the fabulous timer function on my camera and a tripod and took some family pictures...

They were needed:
Zeegan is three weeks old now!

Points of Life

I found these just too funny and some of them too true, so I thought I'd share:

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're the one who's wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really even necessary?

7. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions suck, but they make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dang it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance, or even anyone I know, the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

21. Ofentimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it. (ex: Dirty Dancing, Grease, Gidget, ect... the list could go on and on!)

22. I'd rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

25. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand what they said?

27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. But Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

28. Is it just me or do high school kids get smaller and smaller every year?

29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists...

31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

---------------------------------------------------------

PS, I have no idea why there is no 19 or 20 or 23 or 26, so feel free to add your own. ;)

Zeegan Samialaina Purcell

Yesterday, while Seth and Rocco were at church I decided to take pictures of my precious Baby Girl! She'd been home from the hospital a week already, so it was probably time... :)

So here is our little Angel at 1 week & 2 days old!:

She's still sleeping 23 hours a day, so that's why she's got her eyes, or at least one eye, closed in each picture... I'll do pictures again in a week or two when she's a little bit more alert! I still need to do some with her and Rocco together too...

Z's...

Well ZeeZee was one week old yesterday! She's such a wonderful little baby! She's definitely living up to her name and sleeping ALL the time (zz...), but every now and then (usually around 12:30 Am) she'll wake up and just stare at us with her big beautiful eyes for like 30 minutes... we love it!

Rocco adores her! He is the cutest big brother ever! I've been getting some real cute/ fun pictures of them together, I'll post them when I get a chance...

For now, here is our darling little Angel on the day we brought her home from the hospital!

Our Mini Babe Ruth!

Well, these were actually taken a couple weeks ago, but I'm slow at sharing things these days...

For Noah's birthday (Rocco's Cousin), someone gave him a Tball set and Rocco has been thoroughly enjoying it each time we visit Grammy and Grampa Purcell's house...

The first time he tried it, Seth kinda showed him what to do...

...since then he's actually shown some real talent for it!

CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR WHEN HE CAN START PLAYING WITH a LITTLE tball TEAM!!!

...it's gonna be great!

More Easter 2010

Easter Saturday after conference we enjoyed the big family Easter party that Seth's Grandma hosted! it was tons of fun with lots of yummy food!

Rocco and Noah had so much fun playing on the grass of the Barton House, Flying kites, jumping in the bouncey house and just running around in general!

Easter Sunday after conference everyone had fun at Grammy and Grampa Purcell's house, decorating and then finding eggs...

Funny Rocco Story: the eggs they were hunting for were hard boiled eggs, and when Rocco would find one, he would chuck it into his basket as hard as he could, so by the end of the hunt, ALL of his eggs were smashed and broken... he couldn't figure out what had happened to them! It was a bit smelly and messy, but it was funny at the same time...
