Our FIRST annual Christmas Party

For the past couple years a friend of ours in California has thrown a really fun Ugly Sweaters White elephant Christmas party! and I was REALLY sad we were gonna miss it this year. So Seth being the AWESOME husband that he is said that we should just throw one here. YAY! So we did.

Originally we were going to invite all our new friends, but we were afraid they wouldn't all fit in our house (NO i am not saying we are just so popular we have too many friends--- our house is wonderful! but it's SMALL, especially the living room space). So we decided to just invite our friends from church. It was so fun! next time we are just gonna invite everyone and find a way to squeeze them all in!!! We served desserts and Hot Cocoa. and then we played the "Candy Bar" game (it probably has a different name, but that is what we always called it. And basically it's a game where the "gift"- in this case it was a treat- is wrapped a hundred times and in mutliple boxes. Then you go around the circle rolling two dice and everytime a person gets doubles they have to put on the scarf, hat, glasses and gloves, and then try and unwrap the gift with spoons before someone else rolls doubles). Can I just tell you how hilarious it is to watch 20 adults screaming "Doubles!" and trying to get a present open with spoons as fast as they can? ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! I wish I had thought to get my camera out sooner...

Afer the candy bar game we did the White Elephant gift exchange! there were some pretty funny gifts in there and some really good ones too! I ended the night with a Remote controlled Fart Machine- yes, be jealous! Be very Jealous!
Some of the sweaters were UGLY! some not so much. Everyone will now know to try harder next year...

After everyone went home and we got the kid's from the babysitters, ZZ and Carmen had their own "dress-up and play the drums" party while we parents talked and laughed some more.
Good times! Good times! So excited to do it again next year... but it'll be Bigger and Better!!!

this was the first year since we've been married that I didn't throw one. It was a little sad. I was just too worn out with the baby. But next year I want to for sure, and I'm definitely adding the candybar game! i forgot about that game!
